When you think boxing there are a few names that jump to mind. Undoubtedly Evander Holyfield is one of them. Although he is considered to be one of the best cruiserweights of all time, he is most recognized for his time as a heavyweight. He gained notoriety in the 1984 Olympics where he just fell short of securing a gold medal. Later on that same year he turned professional boxer and began his legendary career.
During his incredible career, which spanned just over two decades, he earned himself close to half a billion dollars. Unfortunately he has hit some pitfalls that have put him into some serious debt. In 2008 his Atlanta mansion went into foreclosure. The mansion, which sold for $7.5 million, didn’t really help the boxer seeing as he owed the bank more than double that amount. On top of this Holyfield is well known for the amount of children he has fathered. At this time he has 11 children to whom he must pay child support. This certainly didn’t help with his monetary issues.
