He is Tougher than You Think
Pursuing a career in the UFC is tough work. The physical demands of the profession are incredibly taxing, both mentally and physically. The fights are brutal, almost always involving bloodshed and often broken bones. The training for those fights is even tougher.
These men and women push themselves to their limits on a regular basis. That means pushing past those limits becomes commonplace as well. Yet every once in a while, a situation comes up that pushes a fighter past his capabilities and the he has to submit to injury.
Apparently McGregor didn’t sign up for that. In his UFC fight, “Night 26” against max Holloway, the little guy from Dublin suffered an injury that would have wiped out most professional athletes immediately. He didn’t stop. Not only did he not allow the injury to take him out of the fight, he won the fight by judge’s decision. After the fight he revealed that he had torn through 80% of his ACL. Yeah, I know. Damn…
