At 9.6%, New Haven certainly has a terrible unemployment rate – but not the worst. Why then, is this such a terrible place to live? The answer is simple: crime.
Most of the city is crime-ridden. New Haven has the 8th highest rate of robbery in the country, and the 4th highest rate of assault. Yikes.
