Berlin Tegel International (TXL), Germany
You really wouldn’t expect Germany to have a single terrible airport, let alone 2! Yet here we are, TXL. This airport suffers from age – originally designed in the 1970s, the airport seems ever smaller as more passengers pass through each year. Limited seating, queues everywhere, delays, and just general overcrowding everywhere you look.
The nearby Schönefeld would be a better option if you can choose where to fly – flight prices into both airports are about the same, and it has a much better reputation. Thankfully, Tegel will soon be obsolete as the new Berlin Brandenburg airport is due for completion in 2016.
