Punta de Mita, Mexico
This well-known destination of Lady Gaga herself has become quite the traffic stop for celebrities looking to blaze new paths and see new sights. Along with that traffic has come the enterprising erection of plenty of magnificent hotels and restaurants, all easily accessed by making reservations and calling ahead, yet always in demand by the especially privileged few.
Punta de Mita is a relatively tiny town, all things considered. The town takes up about 1,500 acres along the coast and is situated about ten miles north of the more-talked-about city of Puerto Vallarta. The surf is gentle and warm and the setting is perfect for snorkeling or fishing.
Stars like Charlie Sheen, Hillary Duff and Mario Lopez have made frequent trips to this intimate retreat. Further away from shore, this little town is a surfing marvel. Stars and natives alike will be seen catching the waves and hanging ten whenever the mood hits them.
