Andre the Giant vs. Hulk Hogan
In a match that started the Wrestlemania fervor many, many years ago, the Hulk faced the Mountain. Hulk Hogan had been the champion for a little while and was getting a ton of press surrounding the relatively new sport. Andre made no bones about the fact that he was jealous of Hogan’s fame.
Andre was the biggest man in wrestling at almost 600 pounds and standing well over 7 feet tall. He was doing his best to build up the league and interacting with personalities that were larger than life was part of the job. So Hogan and Andre agreed to appear on a talk show to discuss their differences and tempers erupted.
Leading up to their match, a lot was being said about the fact that Andre the Giant had never been body-slammed before. Well, when Hulk Hogan saw the opportunity for that accomplishment to be forever his, he seized the moment. As he picked up Andre the Giant for one final body-slam, Hogan tore his Latissimus Dorsi muscle doing it, but he did it nonetheless.
