Joe Rogan Picked McGregor to Lose vs Mendes
Although the odds boards were leaning a bit in favor of the Irishman from Dublin, the main commentator for the UFC was not convinced. On his podcast radio show days before the fight, Joe let his listeners know in no uncertain terms that he believed that Mendes would win, hands down.
Based on his performance against Ricardo Lamas, Joe thought that Mendes hit harder than McGregor and would knock the Irishman out of the ring. He proclaimed that Mendes “smashes dudes” and said that he goes after guys. He apparently thought that McGregor couldn’t stand up to the beating he was going to dish out.
Joe may have been the most well-known prognosticator who thought that McGregor would lose the fight to Mendes, but he was not the only one. Plenty of other public figures spoke out about the odds that were being posted, believing McGregor to be the lesser fighter of the two. I guess we know how that all turned out. I hope Joe didn’t place too large a wager on Mendes.
