Holding One Record Was Not Enough
This devastating fighter has already set one record for bringing more people into a UFC venue than anyone had done, ever before. For McGregor however, that simply wasn’t enough. He decided to go out and set a record for how fast he would send them all home.
During a fight in April of 2011, the Irish record setter decided to go for the kill right away. McGregor must have seen something in his opponent that made him change his strategy at the last minute and fly into the fray. When the bell rang to start the round, he came out swinging.
There was no way to stop it. There was no warning. McGregor flew into his opponent with a thunderous crash and 3.5 second later the bout was decided. Paddy Doherty had no idea what hit him, or even what direction it came from. The fight ended in a quick and deadly blow that registered as the second fastest knockout in UFC history.
